Persuasive Essay: And the Winner Is ..
All 5th grade students in the state of Utah are required to take a writing test in February. The writing test will be the students’ response to a persuasive writing prompt. Students need to be able to develop their own opinions, and express their opinions in writing. It does need to be in 5 paragraph essay form. For the next few weeks students will be practicing responding to persuasive writing prompts for their Paragraph a Week. Remember 5 Paragraph Essays
Suppose that your school is a finalist for a major award for the best school in your area. Describe what it is about your school that makes it special, and persuade the judges with reasons why you think your school should win this award. Be sure to develop your response fully.
